Satellite TV and Radio Reception

Instead of  the old tv stuff you look at all day long, try receiving your own satellite that are freely transmitting signals to Earth from outer space.
There are plenty Satellites up there situate from East to West at diffirent heights above the Northern Horizon to about above your head.
All you need is a undecoded (Free to air) satellite Receiver and your normal DSTV Satellite dish and LNB (That is the small item in front of the dish connected to a cable) which is connected to your receiver.
These receivers are NOT expensive, anything from R350.00 to a R1000.00 plus as the more expensive ones have hard drives installed so that you could record whatever is being Transmitted.
This is a great hobby and will you give you hours of pleasure looking for satellites.
You can get a small satellite finder meter from any TV Equipment supplier, but shop around for the best price for this meter, about R150.00 to R200.00 or you can import one for about $2.50 + postage from eBay and others.
Feel free to contact me for any advice or assistance on this hobby via this blog.
